Armi Smura (b. 2001) is a visual artist who lives and works in Rovaniemi, Finland. Smura has studied art education and visual arts in University of Lapland since 2020.
In her work, Smura explores the themes of home, belonging and gender. Her expression is documentary and she works mainly with lens-based media. Smura has worked with youth around Finland since 2022 while making participatory photo series A Room of One's Own and A Girl Is a Gun. Smura likes to work together with other artists and share artistry with participants in different projects. The reason why Smura makes art is to tell stories and to connect and learn with people of different ages, genders and backgrounds.
